Brigitte Macron has been hitting the headlines recently thanks to President Donald Trump’s remarks. During a recent state visit to Paris to celebrate Bastille Day, the US president made a remark on the French first lady’s nice figure. “You’re in such good shape,” he said. His comment has sparked negative responses on the Internet, but we have to admit that despite President Trump’s sexist remark Brigitte is a classy lady with a great fashion sense.

Maybe this is due to the fashion wisdom Brigitte has learned over the years. The 64-year-old Brigitte married to France’s youngest President, Emmanuel Macron, in 2007, who was then her high-school student. In the fashion department, Brigitte favours pieces by Balmain and Alexandre Vauthier: two renowned French luxury labels. At this year’s annual Bastille Day military parade in Paris, she wore a stunning Louis Vuitton ensemble, which, to say the least, has fuelled appreciation of Brigitte’s sophisticated fashion choices.

With this in mind, we have rounded up Brigitte Macron’s most stylish outfits to date so you can see why she has been called the style icon of France.

Twinning in black

Brigitte wore a black embroidered dress paired with Gianvito Rossi red transparent pumps while attending a state dinner at Élysée Palace in 2015 with her husband, who was the French presidential candidate at the time.

True blue

For 2015’s Bastille Day celebrations, Brigitte opted for a cobalt blue mini dress by Louis Vuitton paired with matching blue snakeskin heels, a nude handbag and sunglasses.

Power white

Brigitte and Emmanuel attended a La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra concert at the ancient Greek Theatre of Taormina during the recent G7 Summit in Sicily, Italy. She was spotted in an all-white Louis Vuitton ensemble paired with a black handbag and metal-toe-capped Urban Twist heels.

Button up

Brigitte wore a black double-breasted blazer by Balmain from its spring/summer 2017 collection while attending the French Cup Final at Stade de France.

Signature look

Posing with Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, last June, Brigitte stuck with her signature brand Louis Vuitton’s navy sheath dress and cropped jacket paired with metal-toe-capped Urban Twist heels.

Lady in red

Très chic! Here, Brigitte opts for a red wool crepe jacket by Alexandre Vauthier’s fall/winter 2017/18 collection, which she paired with black skinny pants and black pumps during a launch event this July.

Call me minimalist

During a visit to Lausanne, Switzerland, this month, Brigitte wore a stunning Alexandre Vauthier black tuxedo jacket, white loose blouse, black skinny trousers, black handbag and python pumps.

Zip it up

Brigitte and Emmanuel welcomed US President Donald Trump and Melania Trump during their state visit to France this month. Here Brigitte again chose to don Louis Vuitton white zip dress paired with blue pumps.

Colour me blue

For her husband’s inauguration ceremony on May 14, Brigitte opted for a custom-made baby blue dress and suit by Louis Vuitton artistic director, Nicolas Ghesquiere. The outfit is reminiscent of the Ralph Lauren dress worn by Melania Trump to her husband’s inauguration.

Lady navy

For this year’s Bastille Day military parade at the Champs-Elysees, the mother-of-two wore a classy navy-blue jacket and dress by Louis Vuitton, paired with nude pumps and a small tan handbag. J’adore!
